The HNEE Teaching and Research Station invited to a field day at Gut Wilmersdorf.<\/p>\n
The event focused on current research projects and results from the trial plots, with a particular emphasis on the cultivation of sugar beet, catch crops and fodder legumes. There were also two expert presentations followed by discussions on possible cultivation strategies. The visitors were welcomed by Prof. Dr. Ralf Bloch (HNEE), who presented the current research at the Wilmersdorf Teaching and Research Station. There were various information stands on the experimental plots on sugar beet, catch crops and fodder legumes as well as grain legumes and old cereal varieties. A lecture by Dr Anne-Kathrin Mahlein from the Institute for Sugar Beet Research on the question of how sugar beet cultivation succeeds in organic farming stimulated expert discussions. Verena Jalane (University of Kassel) spoke about the optimisation of internal clover-grass utilisation on livestock-free farms.
