They stands for sustainable solutions in landscapes, arable farming and horticulture, animal husbandry, fisheries and beekeeping as well as consumer protection. All organisations are registered associations based in Brandenburg and receive institutional funding from the Brandenburg Ministry of Agriculture. They research, investigate, train and fulfil tasks for Brandenburg and beyond. The spectrum ranges from beekeeping, inland fishing, animal breeding and husbandry, dairy and food industry to environmentally friendly land use and mining rehabilitation.<\/p>\n<p>For over 30 years, the multi-country institutions have proved to be an important complement and partner to universities and colleges as well as scientific institutions funded by the federal and state governments. They are characterised by professional expertise, a high degree of flexibility and good networking in science and cooperation with practice.<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"--fontsize: 26; line-height: 1.3; --fontSize: 26;\" data-fontsize=\"26\" data-lineheight=\"33.8px\" class=\"fusion-responsive-typography-calculated\"><span style=\"color: #870018;\">The community of agricultural research institutions in Brandenburg consists of:<\/span><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Research Institute for Post-Mining Landscapes e.V. Finsterwalde (FIB)<\/h3>\n<p>The Research Institute for Post-Mining Landscapes (FIB) in Finsterwalde was founded in 1992. It deals with landscapes damaged by raw material extraction, particularly in the Lusatian lignite mining area. The institute sees its research as serving the interests of sustainable and successful commercial and recreational fishing, including aquaculture.<\/p>\n<p>The researchers contribute to ensuring that fish caught and produced in domestic inland waters are available under defined conditions. Preserving genetic diversity, fish health and species-appropriate husbandry are therefore also among the areas of research. Gro\u00dfbeeren (LVGA) in Gro\u00dfbeeren is a certified educational centre located just outside Berlin and an important partner for training and further education in the green sector. Every year, more than 1,500 participants attend LVGA courses and seminars as part of inter-company training. It conducts performance tests on slaughter and fattening performance in cattle, pigs and sheep. The institute also carries out practical trials for the State Office for Consumer Protection, Agriculture and Land Consolidation (LELF), universities and other research partners.<\/p>\n<p>The LVAT cultivates 530 hectares of arable land, plus 370 hectares of extensive and intensive grassland, primarily to feed the animals. As part of its projects, the LVAT uses part of the land for trials and demonstrations. Such projects deal with digitalisation and automation in crop production, biodiversity issues, alternative crops and the optimisation of fodder production, but also with various landscape elements. (MLUA)<\/h3>\n<p>The Milchwirtschaftliche Lehr- und Untersuchungsanstalt Oranienburg e.V. (MLUA) plays a central role in ensuring and improving quality standards in the dairy industry. With its accredited laboratory, the institute carries out around 80,000 analyses of milk and dairy products every year. On behalf of authorities and companies, the MLUA also ensures quality testing in accordance with federal and state regulations and offers ongoing advice, particularly for artisanal milk processing.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, the MLUA is an important training centre for dairy professions in the new federal states and Berlin.
