With the help of the new laboratory, the Institute for Food and Environmental Research (ILU) will have further research opportunities. With this expanded molecular biological orientation, the relationships between the structure of biologically important molecules and their function in living cells or organisms are to be elucidated. This is essential in both research areas of the ILU, i.e. food and environment. The Institute will now have the opportunity to implement planned research approaches and to carry out technology transfer in line with current challenges. In particular, this involves scientific and technical work goals such as gaining deeper knowledge in the production and use of biogenic resources. Furthermore, the researchers want to identify and quantify environmental health impacts, including climate change, faster and better. This is the only way to develop measures and strategies to minimise or eliminate the relevant burdens. In the area of food safety, this concerns, for example, the reduction of maximum residue levels and multiple residues. In addition, the new laboratory technology can be used to advance further scientific work on the protection of soil functions and investigations on water protection. In particular, the improvement of water protection and the avoidance of pesticide inputs into surface waters are a major issue for the ILU.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
